Nidda district
The Nidda district was a district in the Upper Hesse province of the Grand Duchy of Hesse with its seat in Nidda . It existed from 1832 to 1874. The former district is now part of the Wetterau district and the district of Gießen in Hesse .
history
The Nidda district was first established in 1832. It originated from the district of Nidda . Between 1848 and 1852 the Grand Duchy of Hesse was divided into administrative districts, during which time the district was part of the administrative district of Nidda . On May 12, 1852, circles were created again; a newly delimited district of Nidda was created from the district court district of Nidda and parts of the district court districts of Hungen and Ortenberg.
The district existed until July 1, 1874 and then merged with the neighboring districts of Büdingen , Gießen and Schotten after it was dissolved .
In 1852 the Nidda district had 27,209 inhabitants in 61 municipalities.
