Before the 2015 regional reform, Lacumesac had an area of 131.31 km². Now there are 73.88 km². The Suco is in the center of the Laclo Administration Office. Like a butterfly, the Sucos territory is divided into two main areas that are connected to one another at a narrow point. At the narrow point is Laclo , the main town of the administrative office, the northern districts of which extend into Suco Uma Caduac to the north . To the south is the Suco Uma Naruc and to the west of the Suco Hohorai . In the east Lacumesac borders on the administrative office of Manatuto with its Sucos Iliheu and Ailili , in the southeast on the administrative office of Laclubar with its Suco Sananain and in the northwest on the administrative office of Metinaro with its Suco Wenunuc belonging to the municipality of Dili . The river system of the Northern Laclós shapes the Suco. The main stream follows the border with Uma Naruc in the southwest until it crosses Lacumseac at the narrow point and then continues along the border with Uma Caduac to Iliheu. Part of its upper course is called the Tihoham River . The Boho tributary forms the border with Sananain and the Sumasse with Ailili . Other border rivers to Uma Naruc are the Lago Coi in the east and the Lohun in the extreme west , into which the southernmost border river to Hohorai flows, the Kumalus . The place Laclo is divided along the Suco border by the tributary Liloco . Further border rivers to Uma Caduac are further west of the Ulahu and the Uloha . The rivers Lihobani , Hutossi , Ueseic and Sarlolao come from Hohorai . In Lacumesac spring Lunibar , Rumalas , Mutoko and Nunumera . The Dejo and Aiscahe rivers arise in the west and flow north to Wenunuc. Since 2015, Nacaleo ( Nacaleun , Nacleu ), a district of Laclo, has been connected to Lacumesac by a thin land bridge . The rest of the village of Lacos forms a small exclave south.

From the city of Manatuto an overland road leads across the Suco and through the village of Laclo to Remexio in the municipality of Aileu . The districts of Laclo , Hohorai , Readodoc ( Reododok , Leododok ) Umanaruk and Umasurat are located in the Sucos Lacumesac area. To the west of Laclo are the towns of Tahagamu ( Taha Gamun , Tahagamo ) and Sacatin ( Sucatin ). In the western part of the Sucos, north of the Lihobani river, the village of Hatu Conan ( Hatuconan , Hatu Konan , Fatuconan ) lies north of the Lihobani River , and Bua and Maloroc to the south . Further south are the villages of Labubu and Umaheuk . Laclo has two primary schools, the Escola Presecundaria Mantane and a community health center. Hatu Conan has a preschool and a medical station. history

In 1752 there was already a Catholic church in Laclo.

On September 4, as a result of the civil war , FRETILIN units attacked Hatu Conan (Lacumesac) and captured twelve UDT members. Nine of them were murdered.

In 1976 Laclo was a retreat of the FALINTIL , who fought against the Indonesian invaders. Here they established a base de apoio , a resistance base, the refuge for refugees from the former district Manatuto, Dili and Aileu offered.

In 1977 hungry refugees who had dared come down from the mountains to harvest their fields were driven out by Indonesian soldiers. The soldiers burned the gardens and shot the cattle.

In May 1978 the Indonesians began attacking the Idada resistance base in the hills of Hatu Conan. From July the East Timorese resistance fighters were surrounded and destroyed. Rockwell OV-10 aircraft , which the United States had sold to Indonesia, were also used. Prisoners were first taken to the battalion post in Ili-Mano (Suco Uma Caduac), then to Metinaro , where the prison camp was later converted into a resettlement camp where the East Timorese were held. In August 1979, the male prisoners from Laclo were brought back home, where they built barracks. The women followed in October. At the end of 1979 there was also an Indonesian camp for East Timorese in Laclo, who were supposed to be relocated by the Indonesian occupiers for better control. The remote areas of what was then the sub-district were depopulated. The residents of Laclo were only allowed to farm in the immediate vicinity on the stony subsoil. Almost every day people died of hunger and disease, until in 1980 the Indonesian army allowed them to cultivate their fields again.

On September 6, 1999, the residents of Laclo expected an attack by the pro-Indonesian Mahodomi militia and the Indonesian army. People fled to the woods but then returned to their homes later that day. They fled again the next day when the police and military burned down public buildings and the militia patrolled the streets. At least four people were murdered and many others were gunshot wounded.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Cipriano Correia Ximenes was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Sergio RR Pereira .
