Evangelos Polichronidis (born September 20, 1978 in Witten ) is a German rapper of Greek descent who has been working in German rap since the 2000s under the name Lakmann One (also Lakmann , Lakman , Lak Spencer , Sean Geil, Universumrapper or LAK der General ) Scene occurs.

Life

Evangelos Polichronidis attended the Schiller-Gymnasium in Witten, where he ended his school career prematurely for his music career. He lives with his family in Witten.

Career

The beginning of the career at Creutzfeld & Jakob

Lakmann made his breakthrough in 2000 when he and his band Creutzfeld & Jakob released the first album "God's Work and Creutzfeld's Contribution" on Put Da Needle To Da Records. In addition to RAG , Terence Chill, Dike, Onanon, Kool Savas is featured as a guest on the album . According to the company, the album sold 45,000 copies and had a major impact on German rap, which was just blossoming at the time. Large music publishers also increasingly recognized the commercial potential of music. This was followed by the second album "2 Mann gegen den Rest", the band's last release to this day. In the same year they accompanied the G-Unit on their first tour of Germany. After quarrels with the label, Creutzfeld & Jakob separated from Universal and it took a few years for the next Lakmann release.

The first solo phase (2007-2012)

In 2006 Lakmann was seen on the DVD " Fire over Germany ". The following year he released his mixtape entitled "All In" on the label Assazeen Records of the rapper Ercandize . It contained the tracks of the last four years and Lakmann consciously turned away from the mass industry in order to be able to go his own way.

Eartouch Entertainment (since 2012)

In 2012 Lakmann released his first solo album "2 grams against stress" on the Siegen underground label Eartouch. In contrast to the previous releases, the album deals with his personal life situation. Lakmann reckons with his past and himself, especially his new role as a father is processed. While rapskillz and parties were the main themes on the C&J albums and "All In", "2 grams against stress" documented the rapper's maturation. Self-doubt, fear of the future and drug use are the main motives.

With the release, Lakmann regained a lot of presence in the German hip-hop scene. In addition to interviews on relevant websites, there were again more guest appearances with other artists such as Megaloh , Sido , Pedaz or Sylabil Spill . In 2013 the debut album "It was Witten" by his new band Witten Untouchable was released .

After a long tour and some side projects, he started working on his next solo album. This was published in 2016 under the title " From the lap of psychosis " and was the first chart entry since its publication under Creutzfeld & Jakob . This is due to the fact that both "2 grams against stress" and "It was Witten" were not sold through regular retailers and were therefore not included in the placements. The cooperation between Eartouch Entertainment and the Groove Attack distributor laid the foundation for the change.

At the beginning of 2017 he released the band's second studio album " Republic of Untouchable " with Witten Untouchable . The accompanying fan box contained a documentation that gave an extensive look behind the scenes during the album's creative phase. In the same year, in addition to a song on the "Royal Bunker" album, another solo album with Sido & Savas followed . It will be released in October 2017 under "Fear of a wack Planet" and was composed by the "Orange Field" producer team. The title is based on a historical Public Enemy album from 1990.

Together with his crew Witten Untouchable , he released the third studio album "Trinity" in 2019, which, as always, was composed by house producer Rooq. His latest release is the album "Reasonable Kraut" together with Rooq on which some features can be found, such as Kool Savas , Sido , Flipstar, Sylabil Spill , Jayla, Al Kareem, BOZ, Beka , Magic Mess, Fatoni , Cap Kendricks and Chinch33 .

Influences and artistic style

According to the company, the most important influences include Public Enemy , EPMD , KRS One , Rakim , Defari , Special Ed as well as RAG and the Stieber Twins . Lakmanns Rapstil at Creutzfeld & Jakob can be rather staccato - Flow describe in time he rapped slower. The live performances play an important role in Lakmann's case. As a representative of the "old school", the classic values of rapeseed such as "honesty", skills, authenticity and originality count for him .
