Before the 2015 regional reform, Leimea-Craic had an area of 28.85 km². Now it is 33.01 km². The Suco is located in the south of the Hatulia administrative office. To the north are the Sucos Samara , Coilate-Letelo and Leimea-Sarinbalo . In the southeast, Leimea-Craic borders on the Atsabe administrative office with its Sucos Leimea Leten ( Eng .: "Ober-Leten" ) and Laubono, and in the west on the Cailaco administrative office, which belongs to the municipality of Bobonaro, with its Sucos Goulolo , Dau Udo and Purugua . The Marobo River forms the border with Bobonaro . The northern border river Garai and the southern border river Ladiban flow into it . The Biaioni, which rises in Leimea-Craic, flows into the Garai . The Garai arises from the confluence of the Aiboro coming from the north and the Meipu , which forms the border with Coilate-Letelo. The Ladibau , the border river to Leimea-Sorinbalo, flows into the Meipu.

The villages Boeana , Aidabamera and Gunutur ( Gnutur ) lie in the northwest between Biaioni, Garai and Marobo . In the east are the places Railuli and Susorema ( Susurema ) and in the south the village of Motur . Gunutur has a primary school ( Escola Primaria Leimea-Craic ), a medical station and a makeshift helipad. There are no major roads connecting the Suco with the outside world, which is why the ballot boxes for the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 had to be brought to the polling station in the primary school by horses and porters and then picked up again.

The three Aldeias Gunutur , Hatupae and Laquiama are located in the Suco .

Residents

The Suco has 1286 inhabitants (2015), of which 652 are men and 634 women. The population density is 39.0 inhabitants / km². There are 249 households in the Suco. Over 97% of the population name Kemak as their mother tongue. More than 2% speak Tetum Prasa .

history

2003 was the then sub-district Hatulia scene of raids and skirmishes, in which the organization Colimau 2000 was involved. The centers were Samara and Leimea-Craic. The Colimau 2000 in Leimea-Craic has broad support from the population. The organization came to the region in 2000 with the return of refugees from the 1999 riots from West Timor . Colimau gained a lot of sympathy among the residents of Leimea-Craic in 2000 when they invited a Catholic priest to consecrate land for a future church. This case of support from the Catholic Church contradicts the basic animistic features of Colimau 2000.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Frederico Lemos Soares was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Baltazar dos Reis won .
