Lincoln DeWitt

Lincoln DeWitt (born April 24, 1967 ) is a retired American skeleton driver .

Lincoln DeWitt made his World Cup debut in December 1998 when he finished 15th in a race in Park City . The following season he was sixth in Lillehammer for the first time in the top ten. A year later, he won his first World Cup race in Park City. It was the only World Cup victory in his career. This season was overall his best in the World Cup, the overall ranking he won. In 2001 he was also the US champion, having finished third in 1999.

DeWitt first took part in World Championships in Altenberg in 1999, but as 17th without great success. The following year he was eighth in Igls . In 2001 in Calgary he won the bronze medal. His last race disputed DeWitt in the 2002 Olympic Games of Salt Lake City . In his US homeland, the skeleton competitions took place for the first time since 1948 as part of the Games. DeWitt finished fifth here.

DeWitt was coached temporarily by Ryan Davenport , whom he succeeded in 2000 as North American champion . He won the title three times in a row from 2000 to 2002, only Davenport was more successful here.
