Alain Wicki is a former Swiss skeleton pilot .

Alain Wicki was European Skeleton Champion in 1983 in Igls and third in the World Championships in St. Moritz behind Gert Elsässer and Nico Baracchi . In 1987 in Sarajevo he was third in the European Championship, in 1988 he won the title in Winterberg a second time. In creating the Skeleton World Cup, he was one of the most successful athletes of the early years. He won the first ever World Cup race, which was held in Winterberg in 1988. In the overall World Cup he finished second behind Andy Schmid in this first season . In the following season 1988/89 he won all three races of the World Cup and thus also the overall ranking. In 1989 he won gold at the World Championships in St. Moritz. Even in the 1990s he still took part in the World Cup and was often at the top of the table without intervening again in the overall standings. In 1998 he took part actively in the World Championship in St. Moritz for the last time and won silver behind Willi Schneider .

Nationally, Wicki won his first title at Swiss championships in 1982 . The following year he had to admit defeat to his long-term competitor Baracchi and finished second. He won his last titles in 1988 and 1989.
