The "district" is a term that is used in land registry . It is divided into an indefinite number of parcels . In Dresden, the districts are in many cases identical in name and area to the city and districts located on them. The reason for this is that the districts formed independent municipalities before they were incorporated into Dresden and were retained as cadastral districts afterwards .
The range of expansion of the Dresden districts is quite large. The largest area by far is the almost uninhabited forest area of the Dresdner Heide with an area of almost 49 square kilometers . The other 17 larger districts with an area of at least four square kilometers are either in the city center or are large former farming villages on the outermost edge of the city, along today's outer city limits. Exceptions to this are the almost uninhabited Heller (district Hellerberge; neither city center nor farming village) and the former town of Klotzsche (not located on the outer city limits). The average municipal area in Dresden is 301.19 hectares, a little more than three square kilometers. A total of 14 districts are smaller than one square kilometer, the smallest is Wölfnitz with less than 15 hectares. The respective number of parcels goes hand in hand with the size of the district. The largest inhabited area, the Neustadt , has the most parcels with 5125 parcels.
If you add the values of all municipalities together, the total area for Dresden is 32,830.75 hectares (around 328.31 square kilometers), over which 102,800 parcels are distributed.
Further statistical information is not collected on the districts. For this purpose so-called statistical districts were formed, which are mentioned in the list of statistical districts of Dresden . They were created in the early 1990s with the stipulation that the number of inhabitants was within a certain tolerance range, and are therefore not congruent with the districts, which are very different in this regard.
Legend
Map: Shows the position of the district (red area) within the Dresden city area (gray area).
District code : gives the code number of the district. The district code forms the first four digits of the parcel numbers. Its first two digits indicate the circle in which the markings were at the time they were numbered (early 1990s). The 02 stands for the old Dresden city area (before the incorporations in 1997/1999), the 30 for the then Dresden district and 37 ( Kauscha ) for the Freital district at that time .
Name: gives the name of the district.
Area: Indicates the area of the parish in hectares as of December 2008.
Number of parcels: states the number of parcels located in the district as of December 2008.
Year of incorporation: states the year in which the town or district was incorporated into Dresden. Some of today's districts were not completely incorporated right away, but gradually incorporated. In the year in question, unless otherwise stated, most of today's district was incorporated.
Image: Shows a typical view for the district.
Affiliation: Names the city district or the town in which the district is located. The boundaries of the city districts rarely coincide with the district boundaries. Therefore, the edge areas of a parish can already be in other city districts. In these cases, the city district to which most of the district belongs is named in normal size. The city districts, to which only smaller districts belong, are listed in correspondingly smaller font.
