This list contains nature parks in North Rhine-Westphalia . According to § 27 of the German BNatSchG , nature parks are large areas that are to be developed and maintained in a uniform manner. They should predominantly be landscape or nature reserves, have a large variety of species and biotopes and a landscape characterized by diverse uses.

Some nature parks extend beyond the borders of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia , including Belgium and the Netherlands , because they are based on the natural area . Around 41% of the land area of ​​North Rhine-Westphalia belongs to these parks. The first nature park was founded in 1958 in the Siebengebirge. The youngest and largest nature park in North Rhine-Westphalia is the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park; it was created in 2015 from the Homert, Rothaargebirge and Ebbegebirge nature parks.
