List of Lieutenant Governors of Virginia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The office of lieutenant governor ( Lieutenant Governor ) was created in the US state Virginia by an amendment of the state constitution in the year 1851; previously, the President of the Council of State had acted as a deputy to the respective governor . Since the governor and lieutenant governor do not run as joint candidates, both incumbents can belong to different parties.
