List of the demolished church buildings in the Rhenish lignite district
The list of the demolished church building in the Rhenish lignite mining area covers those church buildings that due to the relocations were desecrated as part of the lignite mining in the Rhineland and demolished. In the vast majority of cases, new church buildings were also built in the newly built replacement villages, which are also included in this list as successor buildings in order to emphasize the relationship between the two church buildings. Unless otherwise noted, the successor building usually bears the patronage or the name of the previous church.
