Lurnfeld (basin)
The Lurnfeld is a mountain basin in Upper Carinthia at the confluence of the Mölltal and the Drautal .
The sides of the basin landscape form the Reisseckgruppe in the north, the Goldeck in the south and the Kreuzeckgruppe in the south-west . As western edge is Möllmündung specified when the eastern edge of Lurnbichl . To the east or below, the Untere Drautal connects, in the southwest the Drau leaves the Obere Drautal through a narrow valley near Sachsenburg . To the west, the Lurnfeld merges into the Mölltal.
The Lurnfeld is eponymous for the community Lurnfeld ; other communities that lie on the Lurnfeld or border on the Lurnfeld are Baldramsdorf , Lendorf , Spittal / Drau and Mühldorf and Sachsenburg.
Traces of settlement can already be seen in the late Latène , 2nd century BC. BC, prove. They probably come from the old European tribe of the Ambidravi . The city of Teurnia was located here in Roman times . In the early Middle Ages, the Lurntal was important as the center of the Lurngau .
