Manuel Enrique Mejuto González (born April 16, 1965 in La Felguera , Langreo , Asturias ) is a former Spanish football referee . His bedeutendster mission was the management of the final match of the UEFA Champions League in 2005 between Liverpool and AC Milan .

He was not used at the 2006 World Cup because two of his three assistants failed a FIFA fitness test.

At the European Championship qualifier between Scotland and Italy on November 17, 2007 at Hampden Park in Glasgow, he and his assistant referee made some serious mistakes to the detriment of Scotland. According to some experts, this could have cost him participation in the 2008 European Football Championship , but he was eventually called up by UEFA as one of only twelve referees for the European Championship finals. He was supported by his assistants Juan Carlos Yuste Jiménez and Jesús Calvo Guadamuro in directing the games. On June 9th he led the match between Romania and France . The match between Austria and Germany on June 16 in Vienna was under his direction. At this game, after consultation with the fourth official ( Damir Skomina ), he referred the coaches of both teams to the stands. Germany's coach Joachim Löw and Austria's coach Josef Hickersberger , whose team had already been eliminated from the tournament, were then banned from a game by UEFA.
