Maximilian Hofmann (born August 7, 1993 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player . He plays in the position of central defender at the Austrian Bundesliga club SK Rapid Wien .

Career

Maximilian Hofmann started at SV Wienerberg in his youth before moving to SK Rapid Wien in 2003. There he went through some youth teams until he was brought into the second team in 2011.

The central defender made his debut for the second team in the Regionalliga Ost, the third highest division in Austria, on October 7, 2011 against SC Ritzing , when he played through and was shown a yellow card for a foul . The game was won 5-0. After another good season with the amateurs, Hofmann was appointed to the Bundesliga team in 2013.

Under coach Zoran Barišić , he made his debut in the top Austrian division on May 26, 2013 when he came on as a substitute for Stefan Kulovits in stoppage time. This last championship game could win the green-whites 3-0.

National team

Hofmann played in two games for the Austrian U-21 team in 2014 , in which he was used over the full distance on both occasions.
