Michael Brinkmeier

Michael Brinkmeier (born February 18, 1968 in Rietberg-Neuenkirchen ) is a German politician . From 2000 to 2012 he was a member of the state parliament for the CDU in North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

After High School on school Nepomucenum Rietberg in June 1987 made Brink Meier 1987-1988 his military service. He studied physics from 1988 to 1990 at the University of Paderborn , from 1990 to 1991 at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and from 1991 to 1992 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles , from which he graduated with a Master of Science degree. From 1993 to 2000 he was a research assistant for Nobel Prize winner Manfred Eigen at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen and at the Karolinska Institutet near Stockholm . He received his doctorate in December 1996 as Dr. rer. nat.

From 1997 to 2000 he worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. Inc. operates. After retiring from politics, he worked as a management consultant for Accenture .

Michael Brinkmeier has been the managing director of the German Stroke Foundation in Gütersloh since July 1, 2013 .

Party and public office

Brinkmeier has been a member of the CDU since 1987. In 1999 he became a member of the board of the CDU district association Gütersloh. Since 1999 he has been a member of the Gütersloh district council. Since June 2, 2000 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the state electoral district of Gütersloh III . In the state elections in 2005 and 2010 , he succeeded in defending his direct mandate. In 2012, he no longer ran for the state parliament, his successor in the constituency was the former mayor of Rietberg , André Kuper .

Private

Brinkmeier is married and has three children. He lives in the Rietberg village of Druffel .
