Moonlight Beach is a beach with a cliff behind and a state park of the same name in Encinitas, California . The area around the cliff and the beach in front of it is protected by the Moonlight State Beach Conservation Area . The beach was used for midnight picnics in the 1900s and is believed to have received its name.
The beach is a well-known spot for surfing . Even beach volleyball can be played.
