from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The NHL Amateur Draft in 1971 , the annual talent contraction of the National Hockey League , was on 10 June 1971 at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Canadian Montreal in the Province of Quebec instead.

A total of 117 players were drawn in ten rounds. Two excellent players were drawn into the first two positions. The second, Marcel Dionne , was the better player purely in terms of points . Because of the way he played, Guy Lafleur is one of the best players who ever played in the NHL. He was twice named Best Player in the NHL with the Hart Memorial Trophy . The Montréal Canadiens had not only selected Lafleur, but also Larry Robinson , one of the best defenders in NHL history, who twice won the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the best defender in the league , in this draft.
