Natural Track Luge World Championship 1992

The 8th FIL - natural track luge World Cup took place from January 29 to February 2, 1992 in Bad Goisern in Austria instead.

For the third time in a row, the Austrian Gerhard Pilz became world champion in the single seater. The silver medal was won by Willi Danklmaier , also from Austria, who had already won the bronze medal in 1984. Third place went to the reigning European champion Franz Obrist from Italy.

Thanks to the Russian Ljubow Panjutina , a world championship in natural track tobogganing did not go to Italy or Austria for the first time. Panjutina had already won the bronze medal two years ago. The second-placed Elvira Holzknecht from Austria won her first medal at major events. Third-placed Irene Koch , also from Austria, had previously won several medals at world and European championships. The defending champion Jeanette Koppensteiner finished fifth.

The Italians Almir Betemps and Corrado Herin became world champions in doubles for the second time since 1986. For the second-placed Roland Wolf and Stefan Kögler it was the only medal in championships. Michal Bischofer also won his only medal in championships , while his doubles partner Herbert Kögl later celebrated great successes with Reinhard Beer .
