Patrick Reed (born August 5, 1990 in San Antonio , Texas ) is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour .

Career

Patrick Reed turned pro in 2011 and has won six PGA Tour tournaments to date. At the Humana Challenge 2014, Reed broke the PGA Tour record for the lowest result under par after 54 holes. At 27 under par, he was two strokes below his previous best. Through further successes in the 2014 season, he was able to qualify for the US team for the 2014 Ryder Cup .

On April 8, 2018, he was able to record his first major victory with a victory at the Masters in Augusta. With a total score of 273 strokes, he won one stroke ahead of Rickie Fowler.

At the Hero World Challenge 2019, an invitation tournament hosted by Tiger Woods , Reed was caught improperly improving the position of his ball and lost his interim lead with a penalty of two strokes.
