Petr Barna (born March 9, 1966 in Prague ) is a former Czech figure skater who competed in a single run for Czechoslovakia . He is the European champion of 1992

Barna was Czechoslovak champions eight times in a row from 1985 to 1992. From 1983 to 1992 he took part in the European Championships ten times in a row and won four medals; In 1989 he was third, in 1990 and 1991 vice European champion behind Wiktor Petrenko and finally in 1992 European champion. From 1984 to 1992 Barna took part in world championships nine times in a row , but could never win a medal. His best result was fourth place at the 1991 World Cup . Barna represented his country twice at the Olympic Games . In 1988 in Calgary he was 13th and in 1992 in Albertville he won the bronze medal. With the European Championship title and Olympic bronze, 1992 was his most successful year in sport. Then he ended his competitive career.

Barna was the first figure skater to perform a quadruple jump in an Olympic competition.

After his career, Petr Barna lived with his wife Andrea and their daughter in Florida and worked there as a trainer. In March 2015 he took over the position of the Saxon state trainer in Chemnitz .
