The Roman Catholic Church in Haiti is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church .

80% of Haitians are Catholics. The largest diocese , Port-au-Prince , has 2,851,000 Catholics. It is followed by the Archdiocese of Cap-Haïtien with 794,000 and the Diocese of Les Gonaïves with 791,558 Catholics. The Roman Catholic Church in Haiti is divided into two archbishoprics and eight associated suffragan dioceses .

The chairman of the Haitian Bishops' Conference (CEH) is Archbishop Louis Kébreau SDB . The apostolic nuncio in Haiti has been Archbishop Eugene Martin Nugen since 2015 .

Pope John Paul II visited Haiti in 1983.

2010 Haiti earthquake

In the severe earthquake in Haiti in 2010 , according to the Nuncio Bernardito Cleopas Auza on February 14, 2010, in addition to the Archbishop of Port-au-Prince, Joseph Serge Miot , seven diocesan priests, 31 seminarians and at least 31 religious men and women were killed. Furthermore, 60 and thus the majority of the parish churches and community facilities in the capital were destroyed.
