The Roman Catholic Church in Honduras is the largest religious community in Honduras . 97% of Hondurans are Catholics. The largest diocese , Tegucigalpa , has 1,480,000 Catholics. It is followed by the diocese of Santa Rosa de Copán with 1,107,000 and the diocese of San Pedro Sula with 900,000 Catholics.

Óscar Cardinal Rodríguez Maradiaga SDB , Archbishop of Tegucigalpa, was appointed Honduras' first Cardinal in 2001 by Pope John Paul II . Pope John Paul II visited Honduras in 1983.

The chairman of the Honduran Bishops' Conference (CEH) is Óscar Andrés Cardinal Rodríguez Maradiaga SDB. Apostolic Nuncio in Honduras has been Archbishop Gábor Pintér since November 2019 .

As an ecclesiastical province, the Roman Catholic Church in Honduras is divided into an archbishopric and eight associated suffragan dioceses .
