Ralph B. Atkinson

Ralph B. Atkinson (* 23. October 1907 in Massachusetts ; † 11. June 1975 in Monterey , California ) was an American film technicians and film producer , who at the Oscar ceremony in 1940 with the Oscar for technical merit ( Technical Achievement Award was awarded) .

Life

Atkinson graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and then worked as a film technician for the Eastman Kodak Company . In 1940, together with Emery Huse , he was awarded the Oscar for technical merit “for their specifications for chemical analysis of photographic developers and fixing baths”.

In 1940 he produced the 28-minute short documentary film The Alchemist in Hollywood , which shows the chemical composition of film material and the process in which film material is developed.
