Rap Demon is the debut album by German rapper MC Basstard . It was released in 2000 as the sixth release by the independent label Bassboxxx . In 2004, the album was released on Basstards label Horrorkore Entertainment as republication .
background
After the label Bassboxxx was founded in 1998 , the first edition of the album BC des Rappers Frauenarzt was produced in a Berlin cassette copier in 1999 . Hip-hop musicians such as MC Basstard, MC Bogy and DJ Manny Marc were already involved in the creation of BC . This was followed by the production of the recordings Sex König , Tanga Tanga , Bass Computer 2000 , There is no battle and, as the sixth publication, Rap Demon .
The reason that MC Basstard began recording hip-hop music and releasing the album Rap Demon was the Berliner Vincenco de Marcos, who is known under the pseudonym Frauenarzt. Six years after the publication of the tape Rap Demon , according to Basstards, some officers of the criminal police appeared at a concert by MC Basstard and gynecologist. According to his account, the officers searched his car and threatened with a complaint for texts glorifying violence, whereupon he censored the album in order to "not sit on 4000 CDs".
Versions
Rap Demon was released on tape in 2000 . This consists of 15 titles. Due to the low demand for cassettes, the tape was no longer sold after a while. Various black press releases, so-called bootlegs , which can be purchased in shops and online shops , appeared later . Since the artist in charge does not receive any profit-sharing from the sale of bootlegs, MC Basstard decided to re- release Rap Demon on CD . The album was remastered and was released in 2004 as the first record via Basstards label Horrorkore Entertainment . Unlike the original version, the re-release of Rap Demon contains some censored text. There are also three additional songs on the CD version. Meaning and own perception
MC Basstard's debut album already contains numerous stylistic elements of the horrorcore music genre . This makes Rap Demon one of the first German-language albums in this hip-hop sub-genre. From MC Basstard's point of view, his debut album does not reach the textual quality of later releases. Still, the rapper sees the importance for the genre and his musical career.

Texts
The lyrics of the songs deal primarily with the themes of murder , satanism and cannibalism , which are usual for the horror core genre . Furthermore, the lyrics of some of the tracks are in the area of the battle rap subgenre .
In the first song on the album, MC Basstard stylizes himself as the son of the devil, whose brothers are the murderer Charles Manson and the fictional character Freddy Krueger . Burns the Club is a lyrical exception to the album. This is about parties and related to music (" Feel the bass vibrate until the party explodes. "), Dance and the sexual charisma of the women. Frauenarzt appears as the main producer of Rap Demon . Except for three songs, he produced the entire sound carrier. Samples were used for some of the gynecologist's beats . The pieces of music Hippe Hoppe Writer , Night of Fear and In Campaign of Evil were produced by Mach One.
The beat for Brennt den Club ab was used in a new version by Frauenarzt in 2007 for the song of the same name, which was broadcast on the music channel MTV , among others .

The cover of the tape version was designed by Frost 187. He worked for some time as a manager at the independent label Bassboxxx and, like MC Basstard, is a member of the Berlin group Berlin Crime . When Rap Demon was re -released, Bobby took over the design of the CD cover. Bobby worked as a graphic designer for the Horrorkore Entertainment label in 2004 .
marketing
The marketing of the tape was taken over independently by the people involved in the production. They copied the covers and folded them for the sleeves of the cassettes. After the completion of the first edition, the musicians took the tapes to various Berlin hip-hop shops, where the sound carriers were then offered for sale. The albums that were released later were distributed throughout Germany by Jayo, the owner of Distributionz .
