Ravenna Jazz
Ravenna Jazz is a music festival thathas been held in Ravenna for ten days in May (previously five days in July)since 1974 andfocuses on the presentation of modern jazz .
The founder was Carlo Bubani and it initially took place in the Rocca Brancaleone fortress. Today it mainly takes place in the Teatro Alighieri .
Among others, Geri Allen , Mingus Dynasty , Tania Maria , Pat Metheny , Enrico Rava (e.g. Chet Baker Tribute 2007), Aldo Romano , Riccardo Del Fra , Carla Bley (2007), Dianne appeared from the mid-1990s Reeves , Al Di Meola , Randy Weston , Benny Golson , Nils Petter Molvær , Charlie Mariano with Dieter Ilg (2002), Stefano Di Battista , Dee Dee Bridgewater , Archie Shepp , Mike Stern , Gato Barbieri , Mike Mainieri and Steps Ahead, Stefano Bollani , Roy Hargrove , Trilok Gurtu , Bill Frisell , Abdullah Ibrahim , Richard Galliano , John Scofield , Lee Konitz , Charles Lloyd and Michel Portal .
In 2013, Chucho Valdés , Pharoah Sanders , the quartet of alto saxophonist Mattia Cigalini (* 1989), a trio of Franco Ambrosetti , Uri Caine and Furio Di Castri , Rosario Giuliani , the singer Gino Paoli accompanied by Danilo Rea , Paolo Fresu performed with the Electronica musician Martux M , Gianluca Petrella and Joshua Redman on.
