Francisco Franco on the 5 pesetas coin (1949) |
The United Nations Security Council Resolution 7 is a resolution that the United Nations Security Council decided on 26 June 1946 in its 49th session. Since the individual parts were voted on separately, there is no voting result for the resolution as a whole. The subject of the resolution was the situation in Spain . Specifically, she confirmed the condemnation of the Franco regime by various international bodies and planned to continue monitoring the situation.
background
In terms of foreign policy, the Franco regime was almost completely isolated shortly after the Second World War because it was viewed as an ally of the defeated Axis powers .
In resolution 4 of April 29, 1946, the Security Council condemned the Franco regime and set up a sub-committee to investigate the regime's threat to world peace .
content
The Security Council drew attention to the sub-committee for the observation of the situation in Spain established by Resolution 4 of April 29, 1946, and mentioned that the investigation of the sub-committee confirmed all the facts leading to the condemnation of the Franco regime by the San Francisco Conference , led the Potsdam Conference , the General Assembly and the Security Council.
The Security Council planned to continue monitoring the situation in Spain and, if necessary, take measures to ensure international peace and security. He explained that any of its members could always put the matter up for discussion.
consequences
In Resolution 10 of November 4, 1946, the Security Council ended its involvement in the matter and turned the files over to the General Assembly.
