Roman Knižka (born February 8, 1970 in Bautzen ) is a German film , television and theater actor .

Life

Roman Knižka comes from a family of artists, his mother is a singer , his Slovak father worked as a choreographer at the Sorbian National Ensemble in Bautzen, where Knižka grew up. Today he lives in Berlin .

After leaving school, he studied at the Dresden State Opera trained as a theater carpenter and worked as a decorator at the Dresden State Theater . Shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall , he fled to the Federal Republic of Germany in the summer of 1989 and completed his training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum. During this time he already had his first theater and TV appearances.

Knižka plays in front of the camera in serious subjects, in crime novels and thrillers, as well as in comedies and children's films. He speaks a number of audio books and radio plays. As a speaker, he works with the classical musicians of Opus45 .

He is the patron of the Aline Reimer Foundation, an initiative that supports adolescents and young adults with cancer.
