Sébastien René Grosjean (born May 29, 1978 in Marseille ) is a former French tennis player .
Career
Grosjean turned pro in 1996. In 2003 and 2004 he reached the final of the tennis tournament in London's Queen’s Club and the semi-finals of Wimbledon . After Cédric Pioline, he was the first Frenchman since 1993 to be placed in the top ten of the world rankings . He reached his best position in October 2002 with 4th place.
Between April 2000 and October 2007 he won a total of four singles and five doubles on the ATP Tour . In 2010 he retired from professional sports.
Grosjean was also a member of the 2001 winning French Davis Cup team .
In the same year he missed two match points against his compatriot Arnaud Clément in the semifinals of the Australian Open , lost the game in five sets and thus missed the chance to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time.
After the active career
After retiring, Grosjean has been the tournament director for the ATP tournament in Montpellier since 2016 .
