At 1287  m , Sévrier's highest point is reached here.

In addition to the actual town center, Sévrier also includes several settlements, hamlets and farms, all of which are located on the narrow edge of the bank at the eastern foot of the Semnoz, including (from north to south):

  • Létraz ( 460  m )

history

The municipality of Sévrier was already settled in prehistoric times and during Roman times.

The place was first mentioned in a document in the 14th century. The place name goes back to the Gallo-Roman personal name Severius and means something like Severius' estate . Sévrier was the site of a priory that was dependent on the Talloires monastery .

Attractions

The parish church of Sévrier dates from the 19th century. Some remains of the former priory have been preserved.
