Sandro Puppo (born January 28, 1918 in Piacenza , † October 16, 1986 ibid) was an Italian football player and coach .

Career

As a player

Puppo began his career in his hometown at Piacenza Calcio . He then played in his home country for Ambrosiana-Inter and FBC Venice until he returned to Piacenza Calcio. After another visit to Venice, he ended his playing career at AS Roma , where he won the Coppa Italia twice .

As a trainer

During his loan to Piacenza in 1945, Puppo acted as player- coach for a few game days before Renato Bodini took over the post as coach. 1952 Puppo took over the coaching office of the Turkish national team . With her he qualified for the 1954 World Cup . There he failed after two defeats against the German national team . After leaving, he went to Spain to the FC Barcelona to care. He led the team around Ramón Villaverde and László Kubala to second place behind Real Madrid and into the semi-finals of the Copa de SE El Generalísimo . He returned to Italy after a season and inherited Aldo Olivieri as the coach of Juventus Turin . After two ninth places with the team around Giampiero Boniperti , the club replaced him with Ljubiša Broćić . Puppo returned to Turkey in the 1960s. There he looked after Beşiktaş Istanbul and coached the Turkish national team again several times.
