Schlick is a detective radio play from the radio crime scene series . The original text comes from Elisabeth Herrmann , which for the first time already from their predecessors Frank Göhre and Matthias Wittekindt for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk designed Hamburger Detective Chief Commissioner Bettina Breuer and undercover Jac Garth man continued led Ermittlerduo in its original text. Chief Detective Bettina Breuer from LKA Hamburg is invited by her friend Stefanie Wallmann to the maiden voyage of the cruise ship Shangri-La , which is to leave the Papenburg shipyard after two years of construction and some postponements . When the ship's second officer suddenly goes missing, Bettina Breuer feels called to solve the case as a race against time.
Even her undercover agent Jac Garth man along with his Jac-Garth man trio in his capacity as pianist involved on board and is in the investigation, which will turn out that many a farewell has left its mark.
The cool, pragmatic career policeman Breuer and the intuitive side entrant Garthmann, whose concert activities as a pianist and solo entertainer conceal his investigative work, will collide several times, as Breuer always wonders why this amateur has been assigned to her. But Garthmann's observation and moral instinct will give her the best direction several times.
This case also shows that the tramping through the northern German province is only little consolation for the 50-year-old Garthmann for an escaped career as a classical concert pianist. He once lost both his girlfriend and one of his thumbs in a tragic accident, which abruptly ended his original ambitions. Only his occasional jazz concerts and his investigative work can distract from the occasional resignation.

After the first part of the Hamburg crime scene series, Dirty Laundry , whose story and figure design was done by the writer Frank Göhre , Elisabeth Herrmann took over the template for the first time . In the following, the series of the Hamburg radio crime scene alongside Matthias Wittekindt ( Death of a Diver , The Yellow Vices , Störtebeker's Revenge , Total Loss , The Blue Yacht ) was designed by Elisabeth Herrmann ( Schlick , Sunken Graves , Chicken Highway ).
Martin Reinke was asked in the interview that he would have created the role of Jac Garthmann in a very “Hamburg-style” way: “It's a kind of declaration of love to my hometown Hamburg. I'm a stage actor and unfortunately I only had one chance to play hamburgers on stage. And now I am finally lucky with Jac Garthmann to color him linguistically. "
Again this time the introduction does not go through the character of Jac Garthmann, although he plays an important role in the further course of the story and the investigation. The present case is the third episode in which Sven Stricker directed and also took on a supporting role again.
When hearing a Papenburg shipyard, the listener primarily thinks of the Meyer Werft , which has existed since 1795, is now in the sixth generation of the Meyer family and has been launching cruise ships since 1985. The cruise ship has little in common with the legendary town of Shangri-La . So far, the myth has given its name to a catamaran with which Burkhard Pieske and his team sailed around the earth from 1977 to 1986, as well as an aircraft carrier of the US Navy , the USS Shangri-La .
