During the second wave of the Spanish flu in Switzerland, which peaked between October 20 and mid-November, only 15 of 55 planned games could be carried out. In December, the SBB stopped rail traffic on Sundays, the usual match day, due to the war-related coal shortage. This also caused the game to be postponed. In addition, not all football fields could be used because they were used as cultivation areas . Nevertheless, apart from some games of the series West, the championship could be carried out.
The top division, Serie A , was divided into three regional groups. A win brought 2 points, a draw 1 point. The winners of the three groups competed against each other in finals for the championship.
