The transmitter Waldenburg-Friedrichsberg is a transmitter of the Südwestrundfunk for VHF radio and television on the Friedrichsberg east of Waldenburg . A 150 meter high reinforced concrete and steel lattice tower is used as the antenna carrier. Since 2009 it has replaced the Waldenburg television tower, which has now been dismantled to a water tower .
Building history
The 90 meter high reinforced concrete shaft with an attached 44 meter high steel lattice mast was built by the construction company Züblin from September 2006 to September 2007 . The company building was then built by May 2008. When the 16 meter high GRP cylinder with the television antennas was put in place on July 9, 2008, the tower reached its total height of 150 meters. The transmitter technology was installed in summer 2008. When the new transmitter location went into operation on November 5, 2008, DVB-T was also introduced in the Hohenlohe region.
The start of construction, originally planned for autumn 2005, was delayed by objections from residents and the neighboring municipality of Kupferzell . The objections regarding the health aspects were rejected.
