Sharon Lynn , also Sharon Lynne , a native of D'Auvergne Sharon Lindsay , (born April 9, 1901 or 1908 in Weatherford , Texas , † May 26, 1963 in Hollywood , California ) was an American actress and singer.

Life

Sharon Lynn started her career as a night club singer and later appeared in several musicals. After taking part in screen tests that she won in a beauty contest organized by a daily newspaper, she got her first small role in the feature film Curlytop in 1924 . At that time she still called herself Lindsay La Verne. She was cast as the leading actress in City of Shadows (1927). This was followed by other leading roles in Flieger in Flammen and in the Tom Mix - Western The Son of the Golden West , but the big breakthrough was denied her. From the 1930s onwards, Lynn played almost exclusively supporting roles. In 1932 Bing Crosby was her partner in The Big Broadcast and in 1935 she could be seen on the side of Cary Grant in the comedy Twice Honeymoon . In Germany, Lynn was best known as the unscrupulous legacy sneak Lola Marcel in the Laurel-and-Hardy comedy Zwei Ritten nach Texas (1937). It was her penultimate role, just a year later she ended her film career with Thistledown .

Sharon Lynn died in 1963 of complications from multiple sclerosis . Her first marriage was to screenwriter Benjamin Glazer . She later married businessman John R. Sershen.
