The Spanish national roller hockey team ( Spanish: Selección femenina de hockey sobre patines de España ) is a selection of Spanish players in the sport of roller hockey (Spanish: Hockey sobre patines ). It represents the Real Federación Española de Patinaje (RFEP, Royal Spanish Roller Sports Association) on an international level, for example at world championships and European championships .

history

The Spaniards made their debut at the 1991 European Championships in Geneva . They finished the tournament in third place behind Italy and the Netherlands. The Iberians won their first major title at the 1994 World Cup in Tavira . Just one year later, the Spanish women also crowned themselves European champions in Oviedo . In 1996, the team successfully defended their world championship title and in 2000, 2008 and 2016 the national team also won gold. At the European Championship tournament they failed in the final in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2007, before finally winning the second continental title in 2009 in Dinan . The Spanish successfully defended this in 2011 in Wuppertal , 2013 in Mieres and 2015 in Matera . With five gold, two silver and three bronze medals at world championships as well as five European championship titles, five silver medals and three bronze medals, the Iberians are the most successful nation in terms of both titles and medals.
