Sports car world championship 1974
The 1974 World Sports Car Championship was the 22nd season of this championship. It began on April 25 and ended on November 9, 1974.

The 1974 World Championship was all about the Matra Sports factory cars . The prototypes that were assembled in Romorantin-Lanthenay in the French department of Loir-et-Cher won no fewer than nine of the ten races of the season . Only at the season opener in Monza was there another overall winner, as both Matra-Simca MS670C registered failed due to technical defects. Arturo Merzario and Mario Andretti won the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for Alfa Romeo . After the second world championship title in a row, Matra ended his involvement in sports car racing after the 6-hour race in Kyalami .
