Steven Gätjen
Steven Gätjen (born September 25, 1972 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is a German - American television presenter and reporter .
Personal life and education
Steven Gätjen was born in Phoenix in the US state of Arizona in 1972 because his German father worked there as a doctor. When he was three years old, he moved to Germany with his family. In 1992 he made in Hamburg , the high school , then made one year community service and volunteered at OK Radio . He also attended the University of California at Los Angeles and the Hollywood Film School in San Francisco . His mother Heike is a columnist for the Hamburger Abendblatt . In addition to the actor Andy Gätjen , he has another younger brother. Steven Gätjen lives with his girlfriend in Hamburg.
Career
Gätjen has been the presenter of various television programs since 1999, initially mainly for ProSieben . From 2000 to 2002, from 2007 to 2015 and again since 2017, he has hosted the German broadcast of the Academy Awards . In 2010 he took sixth place with Daniel Wiemer in synchronized diving at TV total high diving . Since 2011, after Matthias Opdenhövel left the station , he has moderated all TV total events; the TV total Stock Car Crash Challenge , the TV total high diving , the Wok World Championship and the Autoball Championship. In June 2011 he took over the moderation of Schlag den Raab .
In 2016 he switched to ZDF . He launched the FredCarpet project with MBTV-Produktions GmbH back in 2015 . There he gives film tips and presents unabridged interviews from the contributions by Steven loves cinema . Since November 2015, some of the videos from the associated website have also been broadcast on the Internet channel Rocket Beans TV . In March 2017 he presented the award of the Golden Camera for the first time . In April and May 2017, he was host of the daily broadcast quiz telecast Clever dusted on ZDFneo . In the film Mission Impossible - Fallout , he made a cameo as an apostle agent . Since 2019 he has presented on ProSieben the show Joko & Klaas against ProSieben . 2020 he hosted together with Conchita Wurst that of Stefan Raab launched Free European Song Contest . Since May 2020 he has been a permanent member of the cinema format Kino + at Rocket Beans TV, after having been a guest several times.
