Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award
The Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award has been awarded by Studio Hamburg since 1997 . The competition is aimed at graduates from German-speaking film schools. The award is given to innovative, creative and well-told graduation films with fictional stories ranging from five-minute films to full-length films. Since 2017, the award categories have been: “Best film”, “Best short film”, “Best documentary / report” and “Best entertainment”. Another new feature is that, in addition to film college graduates, creative autodidacts and career changers under 30 can apply for “Best Documentation” / “Best Entertainment”. Until 2002, the award was given as first, second and third prize instead of in categories.
During the award gala, the best young actress and the best young actor will also be awarded the “Actor Television Prize” ( Günter Strack Television Prize until 2016 ) and the Hamburg Crime Prize awarded since 2008 , see separate articles.
