Susi Air is an Indonesian airline based in Pangandaran and based at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport .
history
Susi Air was founded in 2004 by the incumbent fisheries minister and owner Susi Pudjiastuti . The airline operates a route network in Papua that includes 168 destinations. This also includes strips of land in mountainous primeval forest, for example in the Baliem Valley , which was only recognized as inhabited in 1938 at an altitude of up to 3000 meters above sea level. Individual tribes in the region did not come into contact with the outside world for the first time until the 1950s. For the tribes living there, the connection by plane is the only alternative to often long walks on foot. Many of the landing strips can only be approached from one side and this in difficult mountain winds .
