The association was founded in 1956. After the players Jindřich Panský (CSSR), Rudi Stumper and Erwin Becker strengthened the team in 1989, the promotion from the regional league to the 2nd Bundesliga succeeded under manager Rainer Ihle (* 1955, † 2013). In the early 1990s, Leo Amizic came as a trainer. In 1996 Ochsenhausen defeated the TSV Maxell-Sontheim team in the final of the ETTU Cup . The 1996/97 season was very successful when the team won the German championship and also defended the ETTU Cup. After winning the German championship again in the 1999/2000 season, coach Leo Amižić, Ma Wenge , Hakansson and Smirnov left the club. The new coach was Zlatko Novaković, who was replaced in 2002 by his predecessor Leo Amizic (until 2005). A strongly rejuvenated team won the DTTB Cup at the end of this season, even three times in a row and in 2004 in addition to winning the German championship. For the time being, these were the last title wins. After Chuang Chih-Yuan had left the team, the qualification for the play-offs for the German championship failed in 2006/07 . For the 2008/09 season Chuang returned for two years, in 2009 Ochsenhausen reached the final with coach Anders Johannsson both in the Champions League and in the play-offs of the German championship, but failed in both cases at Borussia Düsseldorf . In 2011 Dubravko Škorić replaced Johannsson as coach.

After the 2011/12 season had only just succeeded in the play-off qualification - in 4th place, level on points with Fulda and Bremen in 3rd and 5th place - Rainer Ihle signed the South Korean Ryu Seung-min - Olympic champion of 2004 - in 2012 at the end the 2011/12 season he handed over the management of the club to Kristijan Pejnovic. At the end of the 2012/13 season , Ochsenhausen was in first place in front of Düsseldorf with equal points and reached the final of the German championship, but lost 3-0 to Werder Bremen. In the 2013/14 season it was only enough for 7th place in the Bundesliga, and in the Champions League they were eliminated in the group stage, after which 18-year-old Hugo Calderano was signed for Ryu Seung-min . With him, the squad had an average age of just over 20 years, making it the youngest in the league. In the final table, Ochsenhausen only came in 5th, which means that the team missed the play-offs for the second time in a row and the club did not play in the Champions League for the time being. In 2015/16 the play-offs could be reached again, and for the season 2016/17 a fifth player was signed with João Geraldo ; Ochsenhausen was also back in the Champions League , where Düsseldorf was beaten in the quarter-final first leg. A defeat in the second leg, however, meant the end, while they failed in the play-offs of the German championship in the semi-finals to Fulda. In 2018 the semi-finals of the Champions League were reached, in which Düsseldorf could be beaten 3-2 in the first leg, after a 2-3 defeat in the second leg, but with a score of 22:22 sets, the points ratio tipped the balance in favor of Düsseldorf. In the TTBL , Ochsenhausen qualified for the first time since 2013 with two play-off victories over Fulda for the final, which was lost 3-1 to Düsseldorf. For Muramatsu and Geraldo, Stefan Fegerl and - shortly before the end of the transition period - ex-youth world champion Jang Woojin were signed for the next season . With the victory in the cup competition a title could be won for the first time in 15 years, in May 2019 Saarbrücken was beaten in the TTBL final and thus won the double . For the seldom used Jang, Vladimir Sidorenko came next season . In 2020, Ochsenhausen took second place in both the cup and the Bundesliga .

For the next season, the team rejuvenated by replacing Fegerl, Dyjas and Sidorenko with Kanak Jha , Samuel Kulczycki and Maciej Kubik . Yong Fu became the new coach.

education

At the instigation of the former president Rainer Ihle and the manager Kristijan Pejinovic, the Sparkasse table tennis center was built and opened in April 2012. In addition to the active club members and talented players from the region, the TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen professionals train here from time to time. The Liebherr Masters College (LMC) is also located here. Professional trainers train regional, national and international talents here and, if successful, lend them to partner clubs with the aim of later integrating these talents into the Bundesliga team. All the players in the 2017/18 season ( Hugo Calderano , Simon Gauzy , Jakub Dyjas , João Geraldo and Yūto Muramatsu ) emerged from the LMC.
