The 2008/09 Bundesliga was the 43rd season for men and the 34th season for women in the top German table tennis division. Champions were Borussia Düsseldorf and FSV Kroppach .

Men

Table tennis Bundesliga clubs in the 2008/2009 season

Nine teams took part in the men's race, "new" was the TTC Müller Frickenhausen / Würzburg, which had emerged from the Bundesliga clubs TTC Frickenhausen and Müller Würzburger Hofbräu . The best four teams after the end of the regular season took part in the play-off rounds to determine the German champions. Borussia Düsseldorf prevailed against TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen in two finals and became German champions for the 22nd time. TTV Gönnern , who placed ninth , was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga and was replaced by TG Hanau and 1. FC Saarbrücken .

Borussia Dortmund (champion 2nd BL North) and SV Siek (2nd 2nd BL North) renounced promotion to the 1st Bundesliga .

Women

For the women, a total of 10 teams took part again, as Hannover 96 and the TTC Langweid moved up for the TTC Troisdorf . The FSV Kroppach became champion for the third time . The TTC Langweid left the Bundesliga at the end of the season and was replaced by Hassia Bingen .

The Kaltenkirchen TS (second 2nd BL North) renounced promotion to the 1st Bundesliga .
