Thomas Trenkler

Thomas Trenkler (* 1960 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian journalist and book author .

Trenkler studied German and art history at the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz . He has been a journalist since 1984. From 1985 to 1990 he worked for the Styrian Autumn art festival , most recently as a press officer. In 1991 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the language of advertising on Austrian radio.

In 1993 he became the culture editor of the Viennese daily Der Standard . Trenkler's book publications, such as The Rothschild Case and Reunion in No Man's Land , deal primarily with aspects of art and economics under National Socialism . At the beginning of 2015 it became public that Trenkler was switching to the Viennese daily Kurier , as the standard was to cut his salary by a third as part of cost-cutting measures .

Trenkler also keeps a photographic diary that has already been issued.
