The Order of Faithful Service was founded on April 28, 1932 by King Carol II of Romania and was intended to honor people who had rendered outstanding services to the Kingdom of Romania through excellent long-term and loyal service . A loan to foreigners was possible. In 2000 the order was re-established by President Ion Iliescu .

Classes

Three medals of the lower classes, made in 1932.

The order was initially donated in four classes and in 1937 a further class, the officer's cross, was added. The number of its Romanian members was limited and was increased in the individual classes by decree of November 22, 1938.

Today's classes:

  • Grand Cross - 120 civilians / 30 military personnel
  • Grand Officer - 240/60
  • Commander - 480/120
  • Officer - 1200/300
  • Knight - 2400/600

Order decoration

The sign of the order is a silver, gold-plated, light blue enamelled Ruppert cross, beneath the ends of the cross arms a thick laurel wreath runs. In the medallion the crowned coat of arms of the royal family, which is flanked by two lions as shield holders . On the reverse the two-line inscription SERVICIU CREDINCIOS (Treu Dienst), which is surrounded by a wreath of laurel (right) and oak leaves (left). A royal crown is located between the cross and the carrying ring .

For military merits, the order could also be awarded with crossed swords through the cross angles.

The current version differs only in the Romanian national coat of arms in the medallion. Instead of the crown, there is now an oak wreath between the cross and the support ring.

Carrying method

When the 1st class is awarded, the Grand Cross is worn on a collar. The second class is carried on a sash from the right shoulder to the left hip and with an eight-pointed breast star on which the medal is placed. Grand officers wear the medal next to the breast star, as do officers on a ribbon on the left side of the chest, commanders wear the medal of the neck .

The ribbon is light blue with a white central stripe.
