Career

Chandler played at Dominguez High School in Compton , California. After that, he did not attend college as usual , but signed up directly for the NBA Draft .

Chandler was drafted second in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers . However, his rights (along with Brian Skinner) were immediately given to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Elton Brand . He played for the Bulls for five years ( 2001/02 to 2005/06 ) before he was sent to the New Orleans Hornets on July 14, 2006 in exchange for PJ Brown and JR Smith .

On February 18, 2009 he was to be sent to Oklahoma for Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith. This deal failed because of a toe injury that was found during the sports medical examination in Oklahoma. So he remained active for the New Orleans Hornets.

In July 2009 he was sent to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Emeka Okafor . He spent the 2009/10 season there before being traded again in July 2010. This time he was sent to the Dallas Mavericks together with his teammate Alexis Ajinca against Erick Dampier , Matt Carroll and Eduardo Najera .

Chandler won the 2011 NBA championship with the Mavericks . However, he did not sign a new contract in Dallas for the 2011/12 season , but moved to the New York Knicks . There he was honored in his first season with the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award as the best defensive player in the league, ending Dwight Howard's streak with three consecutive titles. During his second season with the Knicks, he was in the reserve of the Eastern Conference in the NBA All-Star Game in 2013 selected. In the home game against the Golden State Warriors in February 2013, he achieved a new career record with 28 rebounds.

For the 2014/15 season , Chandler, together with his teammate Raymond Felton , was transferred from the New York Knicks back to the Dallas Mavericks by trade . In return, Samuel Dalembert and Jose Calderon , among others, moved to New York.

In 2015, Chandler left the Mavericks again. On the first day of the Free Agency, he agreed a four-year contract for $ 52 million with the Arizona Suns . On July 9, 2015, Chandler signed the new contract with the Suns.

On November 7, 2018, Chandler moved to the Los Angeles Lakers , the next season to the Houston Rockets .
