Ulrich Döring

Ulrich Döring (born May 17, 1945 in Lindau / Anhalt ) is a German business economist and retired professor for business administration, in particular accounting and taxation, at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg .

Life

Ulrich Döring completed his Abitur in 1965 at the old-language Herzog-Wolfgang-Gymnasium in Zweibrücken in the Palatinate . In 1970 he completed his studies in business administration at Saarland University .

He then started as an assistant at Günter Wöhe's chair for business taxation at Saarland University. In 1976 Döring obtained his doctorate at Saarland University.

1982 followed his habilitation in business administration, also at the University of Saarland. In 1983 he was appointed professor of business administration at the University of Konstanz .

In 1985 Döring was appointed to the chair for business administration, in particular accounting and taxation, at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. In 1990 Ulrich Döring turned down a call to the University of Konstanz and in 1993 a call to the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . From 1991 to 1994 he was Vice President / Vice President of the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. From 1996 to 2010 Ulrich Döring acted as a liaison professor at the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft (sdw). From 2003 to 2006 he was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at Leuphana University Lüneburg.

Döring held his farewell lecture on November 24, 2010 at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg.

Research priorities

His main research areas are general business administration (ABWL) and craft research. The most recent research results on general business administration can be found in the standard business work “Introduction to General Business Administration” by Günter Wöhe , referred to in professional circles as the “Wöhe”, of which Ulrich Döring is co-author . After his retirement he was able to win Gerrit Brösel as the successor to the “Wöhe” .
