Ulrich Netzer (born April 11, 1955 in Lindenberg im Allgäu ) is a German local politician. From May 1, 1996 to April 30, 2014, he was Lord Mayor of the City of Kempten (Allgäu) for three electoral terms . He has been President of the Bavarian Savings Bank Association since May 1, 2014 .

Life

Ulrich Netzer was born on April 11, 1955 as the youngest of six siblings in Lindenberg in the Allgäu . His parents ran the Netzer bookstore, which still exists today. He has been a member of the CSU since 1974 . After High School on school Lindenberg in 1975 and the following military service in Kempten, he studied from 1976 to 1980 law at the University of Regensburg . In 1983 he completed the second state examination and was established in 1986 with a thesis on donations between spouses in the tension between guilt and family law Dr. jur. PhD.

He and his wife Heidi have lived in Kempten since 1996. Heidi Netzer used to work as a teacher and has been working as a freelance artist for several years, primarily in the fields of painting and graphics.

career

Before his first election as Lord Mayor of the City of Kempten in 1996, Netzer had worked in various areas of financial administration in Bavaria since 1983 and completed additional training at the Federal Finance Academy. From 1986 he headed the presidential office of the regional finance office in Munich, where he was a personal advisor and press officer. In 1993 he moved to the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Ministry of Finance in Schwerin as head of the ministerial office.

After it became known in early 2013 that Netzer would become President of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association in 2014 and would no longer run for mayor, he was finally elected on June 26, 2013 as the next President of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association. His successor in the office of Lord Mayor was his party colleague Thomas Kiechle on May 1, 2014 .

From 1996 to 2014 Netzer was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Allgäu . During this time, 900 customers received tax assistance assistance. Here, the Sparkasse Allgäu hid various funds (inheritances) from German tax offices in an Austrian branch. The case was processed legally from 2017.
