Lower Franconia constituency

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The constituency of Lower Franconia is one of the seven constituencies for the Bavarian state and district elections . Territorially, it corresponds to the Bavarian district of Lower Franconia .

The constituency sends at least 19 members to the Maximilianeum , 10 of which are directly elected in the constituencies . The number can increase through compensation mandates. In 2018, Lower Franconia was the only constituency that had no overhang mandate and therefore no compensatory mandate, which is why the constituency in the state parliament only holds 9.8% of the mandates instead of the statutory 11.1%.

Constituencies

The constituency is divided into ten constituencies. Since the number of residents eligible to vote in Würzburg had decreased compared to the other constituencies, the municipalities of Gerbrunn and Rottendorf from the district of Würzburg-Land were added to the district of Würzburg-Stadt for the 2013 election . In addition, the constituency lost a list mandate in 2018, so the minimum number of MPs fell from 20 to 19.
