The 1985 BCE Welsh Professional Championship was a professional snooker tournament of the 1984/85 season without affecting the world rankings and determining the Welsh professional champions. The tournament was held from 7 to 11 May 1985 at the Abertillery Leisure Center in Abertillery , Welsh , so it came to a new location after five editions in Ebbw Vale. The winner of the tournament was ex-world champion Terry Griffiths , who won the tournament for the first time with a 9-4 win over defending champion Doug Mountjoy . Griffiths also played the highest break of the tournament with a 119 break.

final
In the final there was a remake of the 1982 final , when Mountjoy won 9-8. For Griffiths it was the only final participation in this tournament so far, while Mountjoy had won the tournament three times by 1985.
The final was a relatively clear affair: Griffiths was already leading 4-0 before Mountjoy could win a frame. When Griffiths was already leading 7-1, Mountjoy came up to 7-4, but Griffiths then won the two frames necessary to win the tournament.
