William Gillet Ritch

William Gillet Ritch (* 1830 ; † 1904 ) was an American politician and in 1875 he was acting governor of the New Mexico Territory for almost two months .

There are few sources about the life of William Ritch. He was born in 1830 and died in 1904. At the time of the death of Territorial Governor Marsh Giddings , he was Secretary of State in New Mexico and had to serve in this capacity as governor until the arrival of the new governor Samuel Beach Axtell . He did this between June 3 and July 30, 1875.
