The Ladbrokes World Grand Prix 2016 was a snooker tournament of the Snooker Main Tour for the 2015/16 season . He was from 8 to 13 March 2016 at Venue Cymru in Welsh Llandudno discharged. In contrast to the previous year, when the tournament took place for the first time in the same location, this time the World Grand Prix was a ranking tournament and the prize money counted in the scoring for the snooker world ranking .
A seeding list was created for the tournament analogous to the world rankings. The prize money won from previous tournaments was taken into account. Unlike the world rankings, it was only an one-year rating and included the results from the Australian Goldfields Open 2015 to the Gdynia Open 2016 . The top 32 of this evaluation were allowed to start in North Wales.
The defending champion was the Englishman Judd Trump , who was eliminated in the round of 16 against Stuart Bingham . Bingham reached the final and lost there with 9:10 to Shaun Murphy .

The prize money remained unchanged compared to the first edition of the tournament in the previous year.

Tournament results
The 32 most successful professional players of the 2015/16 season (up to and including the Gdynia Open 2016) competed against each other in the first round. The first three rounds were played on 4 winning frames, in the semifinals 6 frames were necessary to win and the tournament was won by whoever won 10 frames in the final.
The opening round and round of 16 took place on March 8th and 9th. Thursday, March 10th, was the date for the round of 16, the three final rounds were played from Friday to Sunday.
