j-railservice start
Jerry Ordway started out as an inker when he started working in comic books, at both DC Comics and Marvel Comics. At DC, he would go on to co-create and illustrate titles such as All Star Squadron and Infinity Inc with writer Roy Thomas. Ordway inked George Pérez's pencils on the Crisis on Infinite Earths minseries in 1985. In 1986, along with writer/artist John Byrne and writer Marv Wolfman, Ordway would be one of the architects that helped revamp Superman with a revised origin and new continuity, which had started with Byrne's miniseries, The Man of Steel. Ordway was the primary artist on the comic book series Adventures of Superman, with Wolfman as writer. He would later succeed Wolfman as the series' writer after Wolfman departed in less than a year, which before was scripted by John Byrne briefly prior to Ordway's taking over the series solely. Besides writing on Adventures of Superman, he has also been the writer of other series such as Superman (vol. 2), Avengers and the The Power of Shazam! monthly comic. In 1988, during the 50th anniversary celebrations for Superman, he inked over artist John Byrne's pencils for a Time magazine cover and interior spread which featured Superman. In 1989, he would take time off from his monthly work on Superman and illustrate the 1989 comic book movie adaptation to director Tim Burton's blockbuster movie, Batman. That same year Ordway would switch as writer/artist of Adventures of Superman to Superman (vol. 2).

While writing for Superman he helped devise the Death of Superman storyline. He also was the inker on the 1994 limited series Zero Hour, which was written and penciled by Dan Jurgens. In 2001, he drew the one-shot, Just Imagine Stan Lee with Jerry Ordway Creating the JLA, with comics legend and writer Stan Lee, in which the two of them re-imagined DC's Justice League of America. He also provided the art for a six-issue story arc of Wonder Woman (vol. 2) with issues #189-194, with writer Walt Simonson in 2003. He was also one of several artists who provided the art in the limited series, Infinite Crisis in 2005-2006. He also inked over Dan Jurgens' pencils once again in the "History of the Multiverse" back-up stories in the weekly comic book Countdown (issues #39 and #38, Chapters 11 and 12) (October 2007). He also pencilled three issues of The Brave and the Bold (volume 2) #11-13 (May-July 2008) with writer Mark Waid. His most recent work to date was pencils for Justice Society of America Annual #1 (Sept. 2008).
